Getting sick by catching a cold or flu virus isn’t exactly what most people look forward to every year. What if I told you that you might be able to prevent some of those illnesses? Since there is no cure for the common cold or flu, the only effective means we have of combating them is to prevent them in the first place.
Even if you could only prevent just one of the colds that you get every year, wouldn’t it be worth it? Imagine no sneezing, coughing, sore throat, vomiting, aching or misery at all for that 1-2 week stretch. Best of all, this is possible without the use of drugs or supplements of any kind, although an annual flu vaccine is something you should consider.

People have asked me countless times what I actually eat. Often they answer before I can say anything, as if trying to guess. I’ve heard everything from grass to tree bark before the person stops to wait eagerly for my response, as if there were truly any chance that I might actually agree.
Well, the fact of the matter is that I eat lots of things to stay healthy, but grass and tree bark aren’t two of them. I suppose grass might not be too bad in a soup or salad, but with my luck I’d show up to pick some about 5 minutes after a dog came by to mark his territory. I do however try to follow my own advice and eat regularly from my list of the top 25 superfoods that I wrote about in September. These are phenomenal foods to incorporate into your day, but variety is important too, so I move around a lot.

For those of you who haven’t yet made the decision to start exercising or don’t exercise enough, allow me to help motivate you. Did you know that exercising can make you smarter? Or that you will become totally irresistible to the opposite sex if you exercise regularly? Okay, that last part isn’t quite true – you still have to rely heavily on your personality for that, which would explain why I’m at a perpetual disadvantage.
If you’ve been reading my articles from the beginning, by now you know that my objective is to disseminate as much good information as I possibly can to you in order to put the fight against cardiovascular disease and cancer on our terms. These two biggest killers have levied quite enough misery, and it’s time to defeat them to the fullest extent possible. In addition to proper nutrition, we also need adequate rest, good stress management techniques and plenty of regular exercise to wage an effective war.

Getting the proper type, amount and regularity of nutrition is unquestionably critical in the war on cardiovascular disease and cancer. Do all of that right and you’ll be at your ideal weight. Your body will also be getting everything it needs from you – or will it? Simply eating properly isn’t enough folks, and I’m sorry to burst your bubble if you thought it was.
In addition to nourishment, how we live our lives is important too. The interaction we have with our environment causes stress; no matter where or how you live, you have stress, although to widely varying degrees. Additionally, how we deal with that stress plays a major role in determining our overall health.
